How to Stampede on a budget

The Calgary Stampede can be a whole lot of fun, but it is also very expensive for families.

The Better Business Bureau says thrifty cowboys and cowgirls can save some money by planning ahead.

Spokesperson Leah Brownridge said make a budget and stick to it.

“Even though the food can be quite tempting, consider bringing along your own snacks, maybe a couple bottles of water, you know, just to cut down on the cost that way,” Brownridge said.

She recommended watching for times when there are discounted ticket prices or free entry into the Stampede.

Tuesday is Canada 150 with $1.50 entry until 1:50 p.m. and it’s free all day for seniors over 65.
