Calgarians to get up-close look at WWII-era plane

A B-25 Bomber is headed for Alberta.

It is visiting three cities, including Calgary, later this month as part of the Flying Legends of Victory Tour.

There are only 34 of the World War II-era planes still flying today.

Gene Swansey, Executive Officer of the Commemorative Air Force Air Base Arizona, said visitors will get a look inside the aircraft.

“We will also be selling rides. The public will have a chance to buy rides, either online or at the site, and we can take seven passengers at a time. We carry a crew of four,” he said.

The Bomber will be part of the Lethbridge International Air Show July 14-16, and then travel to Medicine Hat starting July 17.

Calgary’s Springbank Airport will have the plane on display July 24-30.
