Travel Feature: Drive the sea to sky in style

Calgary travel writer Jody Robbins says don’t just stay in the city on your next trip to Vancouver.

Robbins says it’s worth it to take a tour of Stanley Park and the Vancouver Aquarium, but then head out of town.

The first stop? The Capilano Suspension Bridge.

“This is an ancient forest in North Vancouver and I think it’s so fascinating when you can be in a city and get that great access to nature,” explained Robbins.

“They have this very long suspension bridge over the Capilano River, but they also wonderful bridges on top of these very old growth trees. You can do this canopy forest trail. It’s fantastic for families.”

From there, make your way toward Squamish and Whistler.

She says for a one-of-a-kind way to travel the sea to sky route, check out Scenic Rush.

“This is a very cool, exotic, driving experience,” stated Robbins. “From West Vancouver you can get behind the wheel of a Lamborghini, a Ferrari Spider, an Audi R8 or a Nissan GTR. You can get in these super luxury sports cars and drive all the way either to Squamish or Whistler.”
