CPS members honoured in Ottawa

Two members of the Calgary Police Service are being honoured Thursday at Rideau Hall in Ottawa.

Deputy Chief Raymond Robitaille and Sgt. Travis Juska will become members of the Order of Merit of the Police Forces.

Robitaille says he’s at a loss for words but that his family, including his wife and three kids, are the real heroes in his mind.

“Working shift work, or when I was away for you know, the year overseas in Afghanistan, or G20, Fort McMurray. All of those things are times away and you’re literally dropping things and if I didn’t have the support of (my) wife I couldn’t do this.” Robitaille said.

Robitaille, who has been with CPS for 27 years, adds he’s deeply humbled by the honour.
