Tips for hiring an outdoor contractor

As we head into the gardening season, many Calgarians are looking to hire the right company to take care of their properties.
The Better Business Bureau has some important tips.
Spokesperson Leah Brownridge said it’s important to look for company documentation, especially if the contractor is asking for a down payment.
“Those outdoor contractors must be licensed with Service Alberta and carry a pre-paid contractor’s license. If they don’t have that license, and they are asking for any kind of payment up front, that is illegal,” she said.
Brownridge suggests planning a vision out for what you want your property to look like, and having a budget in mind before starting a project.
