Toddler found dead near Edmonton church

A toddler’s body has been found near a church in northeast Edmonton.

Homicide detectives are investigating.

Police say a passerby made the tragic discovery Friday afternoon.

They say the identity of the little boy, who’s about 20-months-old, is not yet known.

So, investigators have released images of the clothing the child was wearing.

They include a blue snowsuit bearing the logos “U.S. Polo Assn.” and “USPA Polo Assn.”

There was also a blue t-shirt with a Batman logo on it, and a black and grey sneaker with lime green and blue detailing.

Premier Rachel Notley tweeted “this is so heartbreaking,” and she asked members of the public to contact police with any information they might have.

Investigators are seeking help, not only in identifying the child, but also in finding his family and determining exactly what happened.
