Flames fans now in doubt as to whether team can turn things around

There was no joy in Cowtown Monday night following Calgary’s heartbreaking loss to Anaheim in Game 3 at the Saddledome.

Flames fans, who erupted in loud pandemonium after each and every goal scored, left sullen and depressed after the 5-4 loss to Anaheim.

“I’m pretty unimpressed, I mean the high stick call, that was brutal,” said James. “Flames will rebound for sure, I have my confidence in my team. Calgary’s been through this before, we’re going to make a bounce back.”

Others though had their doubts.

“I’m shook but I can’t say I didn’t see it coming honestly,” said Tristan. “The series is pretty even, not gonna lie. We lost the first game because of a bad change, lost the second game because of a disallowed goal and bad goal-tending, and then tonight, we thought we had it because of a 4-1 lead and relaxed. At this point, I’m just kinda praying that we can get our stuff together, 3 nothing lead that’s only happened a handful of times, I think it’s done.”

“I’m pretty upset — not gonna lie — definitely thought we had it there with a 4-1 lead. I’m a little disappointed,” said Ashley.

“I dunno, I dunno, I dunno,” said Matt. “I think we’re done, I think we’re done, Anaheim is too big.”

“To be honest, the game was going pretty well, it was 4-1 and we were like Flames you’re going to blow this lead and it’s going to be a 3-0 series and to be honest it’s quite disappointing. I expect more from the boys,” said Taylor. “They have to break the curse of the Honda Centre out in Anaheim.”

His sister Alana said she’ll be watching and hoping they can make a come back.

“If they pull it together, I think they just have to stop blowing the lead,” she said.

Calgary Flames will hope to turn things around when the puck drops at Scotiabank Saddledome for Game 4 Wednesday night.
