Foothills Home Lottery sells out early despite economy

The Foothills Hospital Home Lottery has been sold out prior to the early bird deadline.

Spokesperson for Calgary Health Trust, Valerie Ball, tells 660 NEWS despite the downturn economy, Albertans have been very supportive this year.

“We have always had incredible support for the Foothills Hospital Home Lottery, I think it’s because it touches so many people. I just continue to be inspired by Calgary’s giving for important causes and I think this is one of them that they really step up and support, we have been really impressed by that but no denying its been difficult in this economy,” said Ball.

The funds go toward the neo-natal intensive care unit at Foothills Medical Centre.

“They are the trauma centre for southern Alberta and so that includes for neo-natal care and high risk pregnancies. One in eight babies will need the care of that team and we want to make sure that it’s really the best that we can offer here in Alberta,” adds Ball.

There are lots of great prizes this year including a $2.5 million home in Cranston.

The top five prizes will be drawn on May 4th, with a full list of winners published on May 11th.
