Value of farm land continues to grow

The value of farmland in Canada is still growing but slowing at the same time.

According to a report by Farm Credit Canada, properties in Alberta increased an average of 9.5 per cent last year, compared to 11.6 per cent in 2015, and 14.3 per cent in 2014.

Across the country, farmland values increased 7.9 per cent in 2016.

FCC says the agriculture sector is healthy due to the low Canadian dollar and low interest rates, but they caution producers not to become overly confident.
