One of Calgary’s remaining 1988 Olympic venues is getting a serious makeover.
The bobsled track at Canada Olympic Park is set to get a $20-million remodel, with half the funds being covered by the Alberta government. The project will commence in the summer of 2018.
Upgrades will include a revamped top portion of the track eliminating the “Y” where the bobsled and luge/skeleton tracks currently run separately. The new route will be the same for all sleds.
Organizers hope the changes will save on refrigeration costs, and make the track more interesting for all users.
