Calgary-Heritage NDP candidate Khalis Ahmed looking to paint long-time Conservative seat orange

A geologist by trade, Khalis Ahmed ran unopposed when he sought the NDP candidacy in Calgary-Heritage and is looking to carry that momentum onto Ottawa.

Ahmed believes it’s his international experience that will set him apart from the other candidates vying for the job.

As part of our coverage of the Calgary-Heritage byelection and in the interest of fairness, we asked each of the candidates running with a major party the same five questions.

660 NEWS did not hear back from the Green Party candidate before the broadcast deadline.

1) Why run?
2) What sets you apart from the other challengers?
3) If you could pick one, what do you see as the most complex issue facing your riding today?
4) How would the election of you as a member of your party, benefit Calgary voters?
5) Is there anything else you would like to add in a final message to the voters?

660 NEWS will bring you the latest byelection results in both Calgary-Heritage and Calgary-Midnapore as they become available Monday night.
