U of C Poverty Venture spearheads food waste awareness

Engineers Without Borders at the University of Calgary want to bring food waste to the forefront.

The Poverty Venture is a project the Chapter is promoting in an effort to curb household and student food waste.

Members of the group will suggest alternate ways food can be used, with statistics on how students, among the most guilty demographic, can better put expired or unwanted eats to work.

Look for a “powerful visual impact” display at the ICT Building at the university campus (856 Campus Place NW) Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Chapter member, Amira Elwakeel, said there might also be some food costumes to help get the point across.
