Regina Pats forward Sam Steel once again stole the show, as the visitors pushed the Calgary Hitmen to the brink of elimination with a 5 – 2 win in Game 3 of their best-of-seven opening round playoff series.
The WHL regular season leading scorer had a hat-trick in the game, pushing his point total in the playoffs to nine.
Wyatt Sloboshan and Dawson Leedahl also scored for the Pats.
The Hitmen received goals from Matteo Gennaro and Luke Coleman in the loss.
The Hitmen outshot the Pats 43 – 34 in the game.
Calgary will try to stave off elimination on Thursday at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
