Calgary Hitmen begin playoff campaign in Regina

The Calgary Hitmen open the 2017 Western Hockey League Playoffs Friday on the road in Regina to start their best-of-seven series against the Pats.

Over the course of the regular season, the Hitmen and Pats met four times with Calgary posting a record of 1-2-1-0, going 1-1 in Regina.

Although considered the underdogs, the Hitmen head into action as winners of five of their last six and posting a record of 11-6-1 in their last 18 games.

The Hitmen and Pats have met only once before in the post-season. Calgary eliminated Regina in six games in the first round back in 2001, when Pavel Brendl led the Hitmen in scoring with eight points.
