Greet someone with a smile and treating them with respect and courtesy are just some ways to celebrate Random Acts of Kindness Day Friday.
The Salvation Army’s Lieutenant Colonel Larry Martin said a small gesture can make a big difference to someone in need.
“Think about getting a gift card for somebody on the street, who could probably use a meal or a hot coffee or something,” said Martin.
“Giving people a word of encouragement, taking some time to listen to see what their story is and how their day is going and how they’re feeling.”
He also suggested donating some books to a homeless shelter.
