Crowsnest Pass welcomes heavy snowfall

Some of the locals in Crowsnest Pass are welcoming the heavy snowfall.
People traveling through the area are waiting out the storm at coffee shops and restaurants.
Susan Douglas-Murray works at the Crowsnest Cafe and Fly Shop in Coleman, She says the heavy snow is good news for the area’s ecosystem.
“We haven’t for the last few years so in one sense this is crazy-welcomed because we’ve needed some moisture for quite a while especially for our fisheries, we run a fly shop so. They closed for water flow and for temperatures the year before so this is actually a good thing all-round really,” said Douglas-Murray.
Douglas-Murray says even though Highway 3 remains closed until 7 p.m. Sunday, visibility isn’t the issue, adding its road conditions and heavy snow that’s affecting driving in the area.
