Kevin O’Leary enters Conservative leadership race

It’s official.

Businessman and Reality T.V. Star Kevin O’Leary is jumping into the Tory leadership race.

O’Leary made the announcement on Facebook, saying he’s simply “listening to Canadians.”

“Thank-you – the 40,000 of you – that went to the website and encouraged me to do it. What an opportunity we have in this country. Limitless bounty. Such an opportunity to turn it around. I’m so excited,” he said.

O’Leary says the potential of this country is “immense, it’s just really mismanaged.”

He joins a long list of other Conservative Party of Canada leadership hopefuls including former Cabinet Minister Maxime Bernier, Ontario MP Kellie Leitch, Quebec MP Steven Blaney, former Minister of Citizenship and Immigration Chris Alexander, Ontario MP Michael Chong, former Ontario MP Pierre Lemieux, Calgary MP Deepak Obhrai, Ontario MP Erin O’Toole, Businessman Rick Peterson, Ontario MP Lisa Raitt, former Parlimentary Secretary Andrew Saxton, Saskatchewan MP Andrew Scheer, and Saskatchewan MP Brad Trost.
