Calgary mother desperately searching for lost phone with deceased son’s pics

It’s a heartbreaking loss for a grieving Calgary mother who was already dealing with the death of her son.

Rachel Thompson has lost a cell phone containing all of her pictures and videos of two-year-old Zachary.

She says she misplaced the phone during a day of errands that ended at the Co-op on 16 Avenue N.E.

It’s only been six months since Zachary died from cancer, but Thompson says she is experiencing the loss all over again.

Her computer crashed and she says the phone was the last link she had to those memories.

“I can’t imagine anyone ever being as important to me,” she said. “He was so amazing.”

“It’s been awful to have that phone gone! It’s just – I don’t even have the words.”

The phone is described as a Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo in a white and pink case.

Thompson has spoken with police but isn’t looking to get anyone in trouble – all she wants is that memory card and her memories back.

“I just want my stuff of my baby,” she said.
