Jury selection is underway in a high profile Calgary murder case.
Douglas Garland is accused of killing five-year old Nathan O’Brien and his grandparents Kathy and Alvin Liknes.
The trio vanished from the Liknes home in June 2014, and a two week Amber Alert followed, capturing the attention of people across Canada.
No bodies were ever found, but police say the home contained evidence something very violent took place inside.
Garland, 56, had a falling out with the Likneses several years ago over a failed business deal, and his sister was also married to Alvin’s son.
The trial is set to begin Monday, and will last five weeks.
