Pats pound Hitmen

The Calgary Hitmen have opened a four game road swing through Saskatchewan and Manitoba with a 6 – 2 loss to the Western Hockey League leading Regina Pats.

Jordy Stallard and Matteo Gennero scored the goals for the Hitmen, while defenceman Jake Bean picked up an assist in his first game back since claiming a silver medal at the World Junior Hockey Championship.

WHL league leading scorer Sam Steel had a hat trick and an assist in the Pats’ victory.

The Hitmen, 14-18-3-2, now continue on to Brandon where they will play the Wheat Kings on Saturday.
