Many Calgarians will be working up an appetite before sitting down for Christmas dinner.

On average about 20 centimetres of snow fell in the past days, which means it’s time to clear sidewalks and driveways.

Snow fall amounts across Calgary and area vary depending on where you are.

The City is also urging people to become snow angels and help shovel snow for elderly or disabled neighbours.

Calgary Police are hoping fewer crashes will be occurring on city streets, over the past two days, more than 300 wrecks were reported, including a number of hit and runs more than two dozen people also suffered minor injuries in those collisions.

Even though the snow for the most part has stopped caution is still being advised to anyone planning to drive in or out of town.

Area hospitals also report an influx of people who hurt themselves by falling while trying to navigate snow covered and icy sidewalks.
