Winter welcome sight for Calgary snow clearing businesses

A number of local businesses are happy Calgary has turned into a winter wonderland.
Snow removal companies are ready to shovel in some dollars after a very slow start to the season.
Christine Bye with Property Werks says many of their clients haven’t been confident about signing up for snow removal before now.
They’ve received a chilly reminder.
“We’re getting lots of calls, and we’re pretty excited about it,” she said. “People are aware that they’re predicting a cold winter this year, so, we expect to make up for the lack of snow earlier on.”
Jon Stotz, Owner of Superyards, believes things have also stalled due to the economy.
“It’s not so many new inquiries, and the ones that do come in hold off,” he said. “That was the experience until now. I think less residential for sure. Commercial sites they still need the coverage, but I think it’s slowed down on the residential side.”
But, he says the calm before the flurries has allowed them plenty of prep time and they are more than ready to get down to business.
