The road conditions were to blame for a fatal crash near Coalhurst, Sunday.
It happened around 3pm, when a heavy and sudden snowfall caused low visibility and slippery roads.
A semi truck was travelling eastbound on highway 3 near highway 509, and had to slow down due to the poor road conditions.
The Buick Century behind the truck did not slow down in time, slid, and hit the back of the semi causing significant damage to the drivers side of the car.
The 67-year-old woman from Lethbridge was pronounced dead on scene from the impact.
An RCMP traffic reconstructionist is assisting with this investigation.
