A man was rushed to hospital in life-threatening condition Tuesday afternoon, after being hit by a CTrain in the downtown core.
It happened along 7 Avenue near Centre Street around 3:30 p.m.
“I can confirm after speaking to the investigators at the scene, that an adult male did hang onto the mirror of a CTrain as it departed and he lost his grip and fell underneath the CTrain,” said Sergeant Paul Cuthill.
The man was pinned underneath, and had to be freed.
Trains were unable to move through the core after the incident, and Calgary Transit set up shuttle busses to ferry people out of the affected zone.
Shuttles will run from City Hall from NB Macleod Trail SE to 7th ST on 6 AVE and then back to City Hall on 9TH AVE
