One dead and another critically injured in separate crashes near Cochrane

One person has been killed and another has been critically injured following two separate crashes near Cochrane, involving large trucks, within 12 hours of each other.

Around 11 Thursday night, a 32-year-old Calgary man was killed when his SUV went into the path of a semi on Highway 1 near Scott Lake Hill.

RCMP don’t expect to lay charges

Then around 7:30 Friday morning, a woman crashed her SUV into a logging truck on Highway 22 near the Riversong subdivision turnoff.

STARS was called to the scene, but Adam Loria with EMS says the woman was taken to hospital by ground ambulance in life-threatening condition

“The driver of the logging truck wasn’t injured, and there was no other individuals that reported injured at the scene there,” Loria says

The woman is believed to be in her 30’s or 40’s.
