A multi-vehicle collision northeast of Calgary has left two men dead and sent another to hospital.
Three ambulances were called to the scene on Highway 9 and Township Road 270, south of the town of Irricana, just after 9:30 a.m. Tuesday.
EMS spokesperson Adam Loria says the collision involved a total of five people from a sedan, a large cube van and a semi-truck.
“Two males, believed to be in their 30s, they were occupants of the sedan. They were declared deceased on scene, and no resuscitation was attempted,” Loria said.
A man in his 20s, who was in the van at the time of the crash, was treated on scene for minor injuries, and taken to Foothills Hospital in stable, non-life threatening condition.
The semi-truck driver and another man in the van were not injured.
At this time, it is unclear what factors could have led to the collision.
