Arrest made related to fatal crash on Memorial Drive

Calgary police have an update on a deadly crash on Memorial Drive in July.

A man accused of driving while impaired in an incident that left one woman dead and sent another to hospital, has now been arrested.

On July 2, a vehicle was speeding on Memorial when it struck a centre median, rolled onto its roof, and slid off the road into a tree.

A 30-year old woman, who was sitting in the front passenger seat, was killed. Another woman, who was sitting in the back seat, suffered critical injuries and remains in hospital.

Warrants were issued for the arrest of 38-year-old Dale Cameron Neisz, who has since been located and is now facing charges including impaired driving causing death and criminal negligence causing death.

He will appear in court on September 2.
