Strange find at border as Americans try to cross with rocket launcher and grenades

July was certainly a busy month for members of the Canadian Border Services Agency but no where did they find it more strange, than in Niagara Falls where border guards seized a rocket launcher and grenades.

CBSA found the undeclared items in the possession of a pair of American men from Louisiana who were trying to cross at the Peace Bridge.

It happened on July 3rd, the men didn’t have any documentation saying it was deactivated and the grenades appeared to be inert.

They called in the Niagara Regional Police Service Emergency Task Unit and members of the Provincial Weapons Enforcement Unit were also consulted.

Both were deemed safe and unusable but still seized as a result by the authorities.

The two men were able to continue into the country after paying a $1,500 fine to have their vehicle released.
