Alberta Health Services has expanded a water advisory in the city.
Due to high levels of fecal bacteria, AHS is telling people to stay away from the Elbow River.
The bacterium has been detected in the water between Sandy Beach and 9 Ave S.E. and Stanley Park upstream of 25 Ave S.W.
People are being advised not to drink or swim in the river as it can cause vomiting and diarrhea.
The warning remains in effect until further notice.
