Not even amazing fireworks are immune from the struggling Alberta economy.
GlobalFest, in its 13th year at Elliston Park, has had a tough show so far, having to postpone events and cut ticket prices in half from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday night.
GlobalFest producer Ken Goosen said the weather has also hurt them.
“You know, it’s absolutely been a challenging year we had to postpone two nights and there were people who stuggled through that and absolutely we struggled through the challenges there,” Goosen said.
The finale goes Saturday night when Canada shows off its fireworks display.
