Education Minister David Eggen excited about impact of new LGBTQ policies

No word as to whether a recent ruling from the Privacy Commissioner will force schools to make edits to their LGBTQ policies for transgender students.

On the other end of the spectrum, Minister of Education David Eggen says they are continuing to consult with experts and monitor a need for any changes.

“What’s next is that students must know that they’re in a safe and caring environment that has been nurtured by their individuals schools, the school boards and the province,” he said, “There’s always some people who want something different or more or less, I’m trying to work with the positive and work with what I have been successful in utilizing over the past few months.”

Eggen says he’s proud of how Albertans have embraced this shift and how people have worked together to make schools safer for all students.
