If there’s a potential service disruption by Canada Post, the Calgary Police Service is prepared.
CPS will start using a courier service to make sure tickets get to their begrudging owner.
Police are currently dealing with a backlog of summonses from mid-June, because during that time, they didn’t send out tickets due to the potential impending work disruption by Canada Post.
That means, you’ll still be getting your ticket from earlier this summer, which can legally be issued up to six months after the traffic violation.
CPS say they currently have 70,000 tickets on hold. On average, they issue 1,600 in a single day.
