Ten people transported to hospital during Chasing Summer; numbers down from last year

It’s an improvement from last year for Calgary’s Chasing Summer Music Festival.

Nate Pike, with EMS, says only 10 people had to be transported to hospital this year, compared to approximately 18 in 2015.

“Most of the people were in their early 20s to early 30s. Those 10 people were transported for a variety of reasons. The main reasons they were transported though was for a combination of illicit substance use as well as alcohol,” said Pike.

All were transported in stable, non-life threatening condition.

With a number of outdoor festivals scheduled for the rest of the summer, EMS are reminding music lovers to stay safe and drink in moderation.
