Pedestrian in life-threatening condition after crash

A woman has suffered life-threatening injuries after being hit by a vehicle in northwest Calgary.

She was struck just after 10 a.m. Thursday morning at Hawkwood Drive near Hawkwood Boulevard N.W.

In a statement, the Calgary Police Service says a woman was reversing her Honda CRV out of her driveway when she struck the pedestrian.

She was walking her dog at the time, and it ran away when she was hit.

The dog is described as black and wearing a leash, and is currently being searched for.

Paramedics say the victim is “middle aged” but have few other details about her.

Police say the driver of the vehicle remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
