Seniors home in southwest looking to hire as many as 70 people

A new senior residence in the city’s southwest will soon be holding a job fair looking for 60 to 70 team members to start.
Neil Prashad, president of Origin Active Lifestyle Communities, says they’ll be speaking to prospective employees Aug 13 and 14 at Swan Evergreen Village in the southwest.
“We really are looking forward to meeting some extraordinary people out there, who are very keen to join our growing team,” Prashad said. “This is an incredibly important business that we run; providing care and services to older Canadians.”
He added that you should bring your resume.
They’ll be hiring across all departments including dining room, maintenance, health care, housekeeping and hairdressers.
“Hiring for attitude first and foremost,” Prashad added. “We need people who naturally have a propensity towards being a caring person. Finding out where their aptitude lies, whether it’s in housekeeping or laundry or accounting or nursing or something like that. Attitude first, aptitude second.”
At full capacity, they’ll have 150 positions.
