Sounds and tastes of Fiestaval take over Olympic Plaza

Fiestaval kicks off in Calgary Friday night.

The Latino cultural festival will feature free concerts all weekend at Olympic Plaza downtown.

Spokesman Christian Greiffenstein says it’s all about the music and the eats, with more than a dozen international performers and authentic cuisine.

“Food from every corner of Latin American, Colombian food, Venezeulan, Argentinian, Panamanian, Salvadorian, Mexican of course — plenty of tacos — so the food is really, really good.”

It’s family friendly, so they have a kids area as well with face painting.

As many as 80,000 people are expected to take in the festival this year.
