Friends of a woman murdered in Panorama Hills were handing out flyers Tuesday morning in her neighbourhood, praying her daughter, Taliyah Leigh Marsman will be found safe.
An Amber Alert is still in effect for the missing five-year-old.
The girl’s mother, identified as Sara Baillie, is being described as loving and funny.
Keisha Meas’ mother worked with Sara.
“She would say corny jokes but everybody would laugh at it because she was just so funny,” she said. “She was loving, and If something’s wrong with somebody, she would be like, there, and she would care for you, and tell you everything’s okay.”
She also used to babysit her daughter.
“Taliyah is a happy kid. She always goes to dance, and she’s always dancing and caring. She likes to love people and she’s really good at making friends,” she said. “If something’s wrong with somebody, she would be like, there, and she would care for you, and tell you everything’s okay.”
Shayla Do says the pair only moved into the house on Panamount Blvd about a month ago.
“I was just hoping that she’s okay, and we can find her safely and sound,” she said. “She laughs a lot and gives a lot of hugs. She’s like a little sister to me.”
Anyone with information on Taliyah’s whereabouts is urged to call 911, the police non-emergency line at 403-266-1234, or Crime Stoppers using any of the following methods:
