What’s open and closed this Canada Day

By

Ahead of the Canada Day holiday, here is a quick rundown of what’s open and closed.

Calgary Transit will operate a Sunday level of service, but the CTrain schedule will be modified later in the day to accommodate football fans taking in the Stamps/Bombers game at McMahon.

The Parking Authority is offering free street parking, with holiday rates in effect at its surface lots and parkades.

Landfills are open and garbage and recycling pickup will go ahead as planned.

The Southland and Village Square Leisure Centres will be open between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. and wading pools around the city will also be operating.

As for closures, City Hall, the Animal Services Centre, the Inglewood Bird Sanctuary, and all athletic parks as well as the Calgary Soccer Centre will be shuttered, unless you already have an advanced booking for those facilities.
