Edmonton police search for lifted truck involved in deadly hit and run

Edmonton police are looking for a truck involved in a deadly hit and run on a busy city strip.

Officers were callled to Whyte Ave. and 101 St. at about 2:15 a.m. Sunday. Homicide investigators say two drivers got into an argument, then one driver got out of his vehicle and approached people in a pickup truck.

Reports say the 34-year-old walked back to his vehicle when the truck accelerated and hit the man, before speeding away.

The victim was sent to hospital, where he later died.

Police say the suspect vehicle is a older model pickup truck with an extended cab, a lift kit, oversized tires and clear tail lights.

They say at least two white men were inside.

Officers are also looking for the driver of a red car that was almost hit by the pickup as it fled the scene.
