Calgary commuters, both on Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning had to deal with an unexpected detour.
Part of 5th Street, between 5th and 6th Avenues is closed. It’s been shut down since Monday afternoon, when a piece of metal siding blew off a building.
Luckily, no one walking below was hit. It happened at a very busy time of day.
The wind was gusting in the 65 km/hr range around the time of the incident.
There’s still no word when the section of 5th Street will reopen.
