Two suspects wanted in local contractor scams

Investigators are turning to the public for help in finding a pair accused of conducting multiple contractor scams that target senior citizens.

Calgary Police says two men first approached a man suffering from Alzheimer’s in October and offered maintenance on his home.

The victim paid over $8,500 to the contractors but no work was ever done.

During the investigation, detectives found three other elderly victims believed to have been defrauded by the same individuals.

In total, the victims, including one who has dementia are out of more than $40,000.

One person has already been charged but police continue to look for Geralyn Paviak and Michael Aresenault who have warrants out for their arrest.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police or CrimeStoppers.
