Law Day at the Calgary Courts Centre

The Glass Slipper Trial had one princess pitted against another at the Calgary Courts Centre Saturday.

Some well-known yellow characters also had a court date.

The minions were also to appear during one of the mock trials for the 34th annual Law Day.

Batman had a date to take his sidekick Robin to task in another one of the fun demonstration trials planned for the kids.

They could also tour the building and meet the staff who work there, including lawyers, judges and police officers.

Sylvie Welsh with the event says the idea is to make Calgarians more comfortable with the court system.

“The main reason was just for the public to learn about our legal system in a really fun, free, educational and interactive day. You know, Monday to Friday people are entering the courthouse and it’s probably a stressful event and so, Law Day provides people that opportunity to come and just learn about it in a relaxed and fun environment,” said Welsh.
