Culinaire Magazine expanding province-wide

The tough economic times in Alberta aren’t stopping a Calgary publication from expansion in the province.

Culinaire Magazine has announced it’s going province-wide, adding content from Edmonton and other centres, on top of the features it’s been running for years on Calgary’s food and drink scene.

Contributing Food Editor Dan Clapson said now, more than ever, they want to highlight the industry.

”With distribution in Edmonton, the magazine is a position to share these stories and be at the forefront of food trend discussions. With respect to the economic downturn, we need to support and highlight food and drink in the province more than ever,” said Clapson.

”We operate on the principle of being stronger together, so if you can unite on all fronts, especially in terms of culinary, I think we can all agree that Alberta doesn’t get the recognition nationally that it should in terms of food, that this would only help the situation.”

Culinaire is adding writers and distribution points in the Banff-Canmore area and Lethbridge as well.

The first Alberta-based issue in Edmonton will be released on May 5.
