Peaceful protest against terrorism planned at City Hall

A rally is being held Friday to give locals a chance to express their opposition to recent terrorist activities.

Organizer Riyaz Khawaja says it is open to people of all backgrounds.

“This protest is in association with the different organizing sectors, all the Muslim communities in Calgary, as well as the Jewish community, Christian community, and interfaith council of Calgary,” he said.

He’s hoping the turn-out will show politicians that Canadians care about what’s happening overseas.

The protest is being held outside City Hall from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
