Immigration Minister talks refugee plans in Calgary

The Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship John McCallum is in town Thursday, to unveil a new partnership with Corporate Canada to help resettle Syrian refugees.

He will be joined by Mayor Naheed Nenshi as well as representatives from Community Foundations of Canada, CN Rail, Manulife and General Motors.

The announcement, which will happen at 9:45 a.m. and will include details about fulfilling the housing needs of the refugees.

The federal goverment is hoping to have 25,000 refugees settled in Canada by the end of the month.
