Home Depot to hire hundreds of positions in Calgary area

The Home Depot is hiring thousands of positions across the country, which includes about 300 in the Calgary area.
In all, there will be 6,000 new positions in Canada for the company’s spring and summer season.
Mike Renaud, store manager in south Calgary, told 660 NEWS that they’re not hiring only temporary positions.
“These are a variety of positions. We’re looking for full-time positions and part-time positions,” Renaud explained. “When we do our hiring, we’re looking to retain our talented people that we do hire throughout the year, so people can grow their careers with Home Depot.”
The 300 new jobs include not only the city, but Airdrie and Okotoks as well.
“With the economy and the downturn, we have people that might feel that they’re over qualified, by no means. We’re looking for people that want to provide a great customer service experience,” Renaud added. “When applying, tell us about those great customer service experiences that you’ve had and how you would provide that within our building, so our customers have a great experience with Home Depot.”
About 1,000 positions in total will be in Alberta.
