Oil and gas sector cuts continue as Husky Energy lays off more employees

There were more job layoffs in Calgary Tuesday.

Husky Energy confirms it has made reductions across the entire company’s operations but they won’t say how many have been let go.

In a statement from the company it calls the moves Tuesday ‘difficult’ but they will continue to take the necessary steps to ensure the company’s resilience through this low oil price cycle and beyond.

Last year, Husky Energy announced it had slashed around 1400 positions as it tried to whether the economic downturn.

Multiple reports suggest as many as 400 employees have been laid off.
