A new poll shows a big dip in NDP support in Alberta

If a provincial election were held today, would you vote for the NDP?

A new poll from Mainstreet Research finds support for Premier Rachel Notley is dwindling.

The results show a close race between the NDP, PC and Wildrose — but not with the New Democrat’s in the lead.

Pollster David Valentin breaks down the numbers from the Postmedia survey.

“What we found this month, is that if an election were held today, among decided voters, the Wildrose Party would receive 33 per cent, the PC’s 31 per cent and the NDP at a third now with 27 per cent” says Valentin. “So obviously it’s a big shift from our last poll the NDP have dropped way down.”

The poll also found Notley’s approval rating is at a new low of 36 per cent.

However, NDP supporters are still satisfied with the job she’s done, with 98 per cent praising her work so far.
