The Calgary Flames would make another late push but would fall short once again as the Nashville Predators would hang on to take a 2-1 win at the Dome in the Flames’ last game before the All-Star break.
Mark Giordano cut the Predators lead in half at the 5:48 mark of the final period with Johnny Gaudreau and T.J. Brodie earning the assists.
Both Giordano and Sam Bennett would hit the cross-bar late in the contest but the Flames would end up losing a third straight contest.
Mike Ribeiro and Shea Weber scored for Nashville while Carter Hutton turned aside 26 shots.
The Flames will now get a week off for the NHL All-Star break. The team will return to action on Wednesday February 3rd when they play host to the Carolina Hurricanes.
The Flames come into the break 6th in the Pacific Division with 45 points, 8 points back of Arizona for that 3rd playoff spot.
