Housing prices to drop this year in Calgary

Expect housing prices to fall this year in Calgary.

Royal LePage is out with its 2016 forecast which calls for a three per cent drop in the city.

Diane Scott, Owner of Royal LePage Solutions says Calgary is definitely in buyer’s market territory now.

“In every sector there are good opportunities for people to either move up or to invest,” she said.

The prediction comes after prices remained in neutral in the fourth quarter last year with the aggregate price rising a mere 0.3 per cent.

The condo market was softer however, declining 1.2 per cent.

The Calgary Real Estate Board will be out with its 2016 forecast later Wednesday morning.
